The Big Vista – caught on film

In 2018, Artlink worked with Hull Red CIC, PACT and a range of other community partners to deliver The Big Vista, Hull’s most accessible arts festival. A one-day event on 7th July that attracted around 6,000 people, The Big Vista was held in Pearson Park. It was a beautiful, sunny day that featured a variety of local artists and art organisations from Bransholme Community Arts Enterprise to Hull Carnival Arts and performances from bands including Pearls Cab Ride and Sunflowers. From dance performances to hands on art workshops from Artlink, there was something for everyone to experience and enjoy. Particular attention was paid to ensuring the event was accessible to disabled people and welcoming to all.

Here’s a film of the event made by some of Hull Red’s learning disabled members, Emily Oetegenn, Rachael Harrison and Dee Gordon, working with filmmaker Mal Williamson.
