On behalf of Hull 2017 UK City of Culture, Artlink worked with Dr Jade French, a specialist in disability and access in the arts, to undertake an evaluation residency. This was based around a creative review of evaluation data on disabled audiences engaging with the City of Culture programme.
The main outcome was an evaluation in the form of a zine, focused on the following three topics: Access and participation, Representation and Opportunity. All explored via a mixed methodology making use of formal data, mentimeter and other such tools. An online version of the zine can be read here.
In addition to circulating the zine in print and online, Dr French presented her findings at the Cultural Transformations Conference at the University of Hull in 2018.
