Hear in Hull is one of the sixty Creative Communities projects of Hull 2017. It is a collaborative venture between Speech and Language Therapy at Humber NHS Trust, Artlink Hull, the general public, and people who stammer.
Stammering affects 5% of children and 1% of adults, and can significantly impact the communication between individuals. The aim of the project is to produce a film and an art installation that will enable the voice of people who stammer and their families to be heard.
The animation which came from the project, My Stammering Tap, is a collaboration created by children and adults who stammer and speech therapists working with Peter Snelling from My Pockets. It has now been viewed over 2,000 times on YouTube.
