Hear in Hull is a collaborative project between Speech and Language Therapy at Humber NHS Trust, Artlink Hull, the general public, and people who stammer.
Stammering affects 5% of children and 1% of adults, and can significantly impact the communication between individuals. The Spotlight Gallery hosts a number of drawings and postcards which were produced in this projects, as well as an animation.
The animation is a collaboration between speech therapists and clients working with Peter Snelling from the award winning production company, “My Pockets”. Their films have been screened by the BBC, the BFI, and The Museum of the Moving Image, New York. They have over 300,00 views online and have met the Prime Minister in recognition of their work inspiring young people to express themselves with film.
