Artlink’s Spotlight programme presents Hull based artist Charles Broomfield in exhibition throughout March and April. A fine arts graduate Charles is interested in studying people through drawing—particularly within inner city environments. Using an array of different mediums, he interprets the people he witnesses into two dimensional individuals’, which are assimilated into publications and materialistic forms.
Charles’ minimal approach and gestural marks capture the essence of his subjects. The nature of his methods and materials emphasise the individuality of those he observes, translating as hand-drawn caricatures of a moment or series of moments trapped in time on a surface.
There will be an open evening alongside the preview of GRAFT in FLUX, Friday the 13th of April, 6-8pm, Join us for drinks and a chat with the artist.
