Disability Arts Network (DAN)
Artlink organises The Disability Arts Network (DAN), a forum for individuals, organisations, groups, artists, audiences and participants in Hull and the wider region that are interested in art, culture and disability. We join forces to improve access to the arts, raise equality and diversity in our region.
Join us every two months at the forum.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 28th July 2020 from 1 – 2pm on Zoom video including:
- Open discussion of the recent EU Report “Disabled Artists in the Mainstream – A New cultural Agenda For Europe” which is now available at this link
Opportunity for the group to co-develop Artlink’s next public exhibition CARE (exploring the theme of ‘care’, which will be open to all art forms and disabled artists in the region)
Due to the video format this time, we need to limit attendance to 15 people on a first come basis.
Please register for your free ticket on Eventbrite at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/80502929429
For those unable to make it we will document and circulate the minutes/outcomes of the meeting.
May 2020, the session was postponed due to the CV-19 crisis.
March 2020, the session was led by Emily Clixby of Gig Buddies who did a session on Learning Disability Awareness. The sessions are to be rolled out to the public, and for this reason we are not including detailed minutes. If you missed this session and would like to have the training you can email email@example.com. You can find out more about gig buddies here: https://www.mencap.org.uk/get-involved/volunteer-mencap/gig-buddies
Future dates for 2020 meetings are: 8th Sept and 10th Nov.
