Creative Connections: a step change in access to high quality creative opportunities for disabled people in Hull and East Riding
Creative Connections is a new, year long programme which will see three artists collaborate on a regular basis with participants from three of Hull’s leading disability charities to develop creative social groups. The charities are Danny’s Dream, Victoria House and Sight Support and the artists working with them are Gail Hurst, Jon Keen and Sarah Johnson respectively. The programme begins in March 2019. The groups in each centre will develop their own projects across the year with the artist they’re working with. All three groups will collaborate on a joint exhibition at Artlink in 2020. The project is being evaluated by Dr Jade French.
An exhibition of work created by the participants will be on display at Artlink from the 04 December.
Creative Connections has been made possible by a grant from Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. As well as match funding from Arts Council England.
