Our Voice Will Be Heard will support young disabled people aged 14 – 25 over summer 2019, to develop their skills and confidence and communicate their concerns and experiences to the wider world through creative media. Participants will be trained by two experienced artists, Peter Snelling and Kate Sunlay, in using film, photography, podcasting and blogging to make powerful creative digital content and communicate effectively and professionally. After initial training and assistance in developing their ideas, the young people will be supported to lead their own projects within small groups, with control of their own budgets. Through this, they’ll also gain skills in team working and project management. The participants will explore through their projects important topics that impact on their lives. As they finish their projects, we’ll aid them in platforming their work to the wider public through a launch event and online communications channels, as well as to adults in the community.
