The late politician Jo Cox once said that "loneliness doesn't discriminate". We al feel lonely once in a while. However, loneliness is so subjective, that we can find it difficult to relate to another person's experience. In his ongoing project Worlds Apart, visual artist Aristotle Roufanis uses video installation to address issues around social isolation. The work seeks to evoke a visceral response in the viewer, to spark moments of empathy, curiosity, awareness, or even uneasiness.

Aristotle Roufanis (b. 1983 Athens, Greece) is a visual artist based between Athens and London. His work focuses on patterns, textures and human interactions defined by the condition of urban life and architecture. Fascinated by how humans build the environments in which they live, he has travelled the world extensively, creating works that combine creative technology with his personal artistic vision. He has exhibited at Miami Photo Festival, Zeitz MOCAA Cape Town, the 3rd Beijing Photo Biennale, the Copenhagen Photo Festival and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. His work has been published by The Art Newspaper, Artsy, Wired, the British Journal of Photography, the Creative Review, Cheese! by Konbini, Petapixel, the Best of Behance galleries and many others, both online and in print.
